In a few short weeks I will have this bad boy at my disposal for exactly 24 hours and 200 miles. 2012 911 Carrera S gifted by the girlfriend for my 26 birthday!
Ohh and it's a 7 speed manual as well.

Can you average 8 1/3 miles per hour?

Long time no talk, friend! How goes it? What are your thoughts on the new GT?? And how is that new potential acquisition going?

Make sure to plan out your entire day to use the miles as best you can! I was surprised with a C7 Vette for my birthday, and my only regret was not being able to plan everything I wanted to do with it ahead of time.
I'm sure you will have a blast!

Make sure you bring it back with the brake pads completely gone!

Ohh i will. She said "if you expect to buy one of these in the next year or two, you ought to at least drive one!".
What would i do without her ;). I intend to document it fully via GoPro and create a short video/writeup for Oppo.

Long time indeed, my friend. Everything is going well in the coalminer residence so I can't ask for much more than that. How have you been?
Concerning the new GT, I'm not thrilled by it. The styling is a bit awkward in my opinion and just doesn't garner my fancy. That being said, I really only dislike it because they named it the GT and made it look odd. I wish they had done what Jaguar did with the F-Type in calling it a descendant of the E-Type instead of a revival of it. This car doesn't deserve the GT name but that's just my opinion. What do you think of it?
The search continues. I'm being picky and want something a bit distinctive and that unfortunately takes time to locate and procure.

I'm doing well! Probably going back to school soon, so I'm looking forward to that...
As for the GT...I think I agree. It just isn't as handsome as the Ford GT...but I'm sure that the performance will be incredible. About "deserving" the name...I don't know. I suppose the GT didn't have anywhere near the racing pedigree of the original GT40, but it did look extremely similar (personally, I think the Ford GT looks better than the GT40). I suppose I'm not really sure whether or not the new one deserves the name.
As for the acquisition...still won't tell what you are looking for? All I know is that you are looking for something Italian. No interest in acquiring a new GT?

That's good to hear. What are you considering studying?
I have no doubt that the performance will be incredible and, contrary to my opinion of the vehicle, I hope it does sell well.
I agree about the racing pedigree but I give the 2005-6 car a pass because the styling is similar to the old car.
Oh, it's a 430 Scud. I miss having a raw, stripped out car and have always enjoyed friends' cars, so I've decided to get one. As for the new GT, no I don't intend to get one.

I think I'm going to go into medicine. I'd like to be a doctor some day.
430 Scuds are awesome! I raced one in the quarter mile in my GT-R a few years ago. I think the 430 Scud is the best looking mid engine Ferrari ever. I'll bet they are hard to find...

A wonderful profession. Good doctors are always needed. Do you have any idea what sort you would like to be?
I'm sure you blew him away quite convincing if it was from a dead stop.
They definitely are terrific vehicles and I'm glad to hear that you like the styling as much as I do. In my opinion, it's aggressive without being overdone.
As far as finding one, it's actually not terribly difficult to actually find one. It's difficult to find a unique one. I want a less common color like Bianco Avus or Fuji and require it to be fully optioned.

Thank you and thanks for sharing!
OMG so cool!
Now I can see why it was so hard to give it back.
Now I want a 991 too, haha. I love my 997 but dat 991 is so nice.

Niceeeee. Glad to see you're taking action to make a P car happen!
They really are the best cars you can use 7 days a week.

It'll be a contest between that and securing a small space with a few buddies to work on our cars. Space for 2-3 cars, tools, cooler, etc. Dedicated club house of sorts....

I wish I could work on cars. But no time. I do office work from home on the weekends. Any free time I do have gets spent sleeping, eating, driving, running, drinking or watching TV (or some combination of those)

I am generally on that side of things. My friends are more the tinkerers and I could benefit from their expertise.
One has owned/restored/modded over 25 cars in the last 10 years including EG civics, STIs, C5 Z06, 2 69' camaros, etc. Other has a Z4m and E30 3 series build (m3 engine). I told myself I would learn the basics at the very least and do things on the FR-S.
50-60 hour work weeks are the norm, I need my down time...
